The problem with many LED light sources is that the light intensity from the LED is very high, resulting in Iuminaires that dazzle. This can lead to an uncomfortable environment and adverse health problems. A common way to counter this problem is to use multi-LED sources and a few small lenses, but the light intensity remains very concentrated.

The Result is an evenly spread, high quality light source that is much kinder on the eyes. How MLA technology achieves this can be seen in the diagrams. The LED light is diffused via hundreds of small segmented reflectors, turning pinpointed light source into one that is effectively hundreds of times bigger.
